Winds of change swept the society and today woman consider marriage a relation that allows her to share an equal life with a man. She does all he work that as a woman she is supposed to do and all the work that a man does. Most women hope for a marriage in which housework, child-rearing, and breadwinning are equitably divided. And hence the engagement ring doesn't fit into this intellectual framework. Because if it is so much about equality why shouldn’t a man get an engagement ring.
